The EM Applicant/Advisor Supplemental Guide to Preference/Program Signaling (PS) is now available on the CORD website! This guide is meant to serve as a complement to (not a substitute for) the AAMC Supplemental ERAS Application Guide. We recommend reading the AAMC guide first to review the mechanics on how to submit signals via the ERAS Supplemental Application. Further guidance on nuances within emergency medicine, as well as recommendations on how to approach which programs to signal, refer to the EM specific guide on the CORD PS website. Realize that PS is new in the residency application process, therefore most recommendations in this document are consensus-based based on the paucity of available data. However, one consistent recommendation remains – only send signals to programs in which you are genuinely interested.
