Authors: Linda Katirji MD, Associate Director of Medical Student Education, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and Jamie Shandro MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Student Clerkship Co-director at University of Washington, on behalf of the CORD Advising Students Committee in Emergency Medicine

CORD’s Advising Students Committee in Emergency Medicine (ASC-EM) is happy to announce a new resource for advisors: the Student Advisor Consult Service! This service is an important resource for any advisors who have specific or sensitive questions about advising medical students applying to emergency medicine.

This is an active consult service which serves to answer specific questions related to advising individual students, advising non-traditional students or student groups, and general advising concerns. Member expertise as well as ASC-EM resources are used to provide the best evidence based advice to each situation.

All advising consult conversations will remain confidential and each case will be deidentified. At this time, the consult service is only for advisors and cannot accommodate student questions.

Any advisors with questions are encouraged to email the consulting service at studentadvisement@cordem.org.
